Gajur kept at Balgopaleshwar temple in Ranipokhari

Gajur has been placed in Balgopaleshwar temple in Ranipokhari, which was rebuilt after the devastating earthquake of 2072 BS.

The temple, which was built in Mallakalin style with special worship on Thursday, was inaugurated on Thursday. A total of 32.73 tola of gold has been planted in 123 kg of gajur.

The historic Balgopaleshwar in the middle of Ranipokhari was completely damaged by the earthquake. According to the report of the expert group, Balgopaleshwar temple in Ranipokhari has been rebuilt in the style of Granthakut (Shikhar) built during the time of Pratap Malla.

According to Bharat Aryal, joint secretary of National Reconstruction Authority and head of Ranipokhari Reconstruction Project, the reconstruction of Ranipokhari is almost complete and some work of painting and decoration is left.

The temple built in Malla period was built in Granthakut style. Later, during Rana period, temple in the central part of Ranipokhari was changed to a dome style.

President Bidhyadevi Bhandari had laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of Ranipokhari on January 19, 2008.About five years after the foundation stone was laid, reconstruction is nearing completion.
