Fulpati brought from Gorkha brought to Hanumandhoka Durbar

On the seventh day of Dashain, Fulpati are brought into the houses as per tradition. Sugarcane, ginger, banana plants, rice ears, bel leaves, pomegranate, jayanti and Ashoka flowers and other new plants are also imported in this day. Accordingly,  Fulpati brought from Gorkha have been brought to Dashainghar at Hanumandhoka Durbar on Friday.

There is a Vedic method of worshiping with the adoration of Shakti according to Bhitrai classical method as a symbol of nine goddesses with Fulpati, also known as Navapatrika. There is a tradition of bringing fulpati brought from Gorkha district to Dasai Ghar of Hanumandhoka Durbar. From Gorkha to Jeevanpur in Dhading district, there is a tradition of bringing six people of Magar caste including the priest of Dashainghar of Gorkha Durbar and six people of Brahmin caste from Jeevanpur of Dhading district to Jamal from Kathmandu.

This year, due to the risk of corona virus infection, high-ranking civil servants, Gurju's platoon, Nepal Army band, panchayat and cultural dance songs were flown from Jamal to Hanuman Dhoka.

Although Dashain starts from the day of Ghatsthapana, the special activities of Dashain start from the day of flulpati. As there is a public holiday of Dashain from Fulpati to Dashami, people who are away from home have a tradition of going to the main house to get Dashain vacation. However, due to the risk of corona infection, number of people leaving the Kathmandu Valley this year is lower than last year. In the village, there is a tradition of cleaning the chowk, monastery, patti, sattal on the day of Fulpati and constructing linge and roteping for fun. But government has urged not to put ping in public places this year, saying there is a risk of corona infection.
