Discussions begin while protesting on the name of province and proposal for permanent capital

Discussion on the name of province and the proposal of permanent capital has started on Monday.

In the meeting of province assembly held on Monday, speaker had raised the issue of the name and permanent capital submitted by five province governments to province assembly.

Speaker Purna Bahadur Gharti had initiated the discussion amidst vandalism and sloganeering. During the meeting, Minister for Law and Internal Affairs Kul Bahadur KC submitted a proposal for the province capital and name for discussion.

Meanwhile, Minister KC had instructed the dignitaries to expel the protesting parliamentarians.

Lawmakers from the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) are in favor of keeping Bhaluwang in the province capital Dang, while lawmakers from some parties, including Nepali Congress, are against it.

The meeting has been adjourned till 12 noon on Tuesday after Congress and other party MPs continued their protest in province assembly.
