Complaint that result-oriented work could not be done due to lack of budget: Concern Committee

Officials of various commissions have complained that result-oriented work could not be carried out due to lack of delegated authority, manpower and budget.

At a meeting of National Affairs and Coordination Committee of National Assembly held at Singha Durbar on Tuesday, he said that there were many reasons behind the inability of the commission to function and urged the government to draw its attention.

During discussion, Madhesi Commission Chairman Dr. Bijaya Kumar Dutt said that the secretary has been changed 10 times in 18 months.

Commission Chairperson Dutt mentioned that the work of regulations has been completed even though there are no office bearers and internal working procedures have been formulated.

Commission Chairperson Dutt also complained about the lack of budget and infrastructure for various programs.

Similarly, Bishnumaya Ojha, acting chairperson of Inclusive Commission, complained that Ojha has been acting chairperson for a long time.

Ojha urged the commission to be complete, saying that even when a meeting has to be held, one has to sit alone and listen only to oneself.

Similarly, Secretary of Women's Commission Shanta Adhikari Bhattarai said that no policy decision could be taken as the commission was without officials.

Stating that Bhattarai had to work only as the head of the office, Secretary Bhattarai said that he could not do service work as he did not have any authority.

Secretary Bhattarai said that the helpline has also reached the stage of closure. The post of chairperson and four members have been vacant in women's commission for a long time.

Similarly, there are vacancies in the Madhesi Commission and the inclusive commission is run by the acting chairperson.
