Nepal Electricity Authority Executive Director Kulman Ghising has bid farewell to Nepal Electricity Authority. After completing his four-year term on Monday, Ghising took leave while addressing a farewell program organized at NEA on Tuesday.
While there were speculations of renewal of his tenure, he said that it shouldn’t mean that there are no alternatives to him.
"No one knew who came to the Electricity Authority yesterday. Now that the post of executive director has been discussed, it should be considered that the prestige of NEA has increased.
This is a good thing for us ', Ghising said in his farewell speech,' The executive director will come and go. I am not saying that a person should always remain. Nothing happens without a choice. '
Ghising said that when he was in NEA, there was more work done than yesterday. He recalled the issue of making dark Nepal a bright Nepal by increasing the facilities for the employees.
"When I am not in the authority, there will be a worthy person to lead. Leadership should motivate. We have done something better than yesterday. We have also got the incentive of it.
‘There are also some facilities in the staff circle. NEA's goal in the coming days is very beautiful, 'said Ghising. Speaking in the farewell speech, Ghisingh recalled all those who helped him. Ghising had been appointed as the Executive Director of NEA for four years.
In his farewell speech, Ghising recalled that when he became the executive director, there was load shedding for 6 to 8 hours during the rainy season and 14 hours during other times.
"When I was appointed as an executive, there were 6 to 8 hours of load shedding during the rainy season and 14 hours at other times. The country was plunged into darkness due to load shedding.
‘While NEA was in deficit, only 63 percent of the people had access to electricity, 'Ghising recalled.' When I was appointed executive director of NEA, the government gave me the responsibility to lighten the dark ages. '
During the speech, Ghising also recalled the announcement of end of load shedding on the day of Laxmi Puja in 2073 BS. He also clarified that this effort has increased the confidence that load shedding can be ended.
