Decision to open long-distance transport and domestic flights from September 17

Government has decided to open long-distance transport and domestic flights from September 17.

At a press conference held at Singha Durbar on Tuesday to announce the decision of the cabinet, government spokesperson and Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradip Gyawali said that decision was taken to open long-distance transport and domestic flights in compliance with the health standards of the Ministry of Health.

According to spokesperson Gyawali, only 50 percent of capacity passengers can be accommodated in the means of transport and the fare can be increased up to 50 percent.

Similarly, only half of the seat capacity passengers should be kept in the aircraft and masks and visors must be used. Similarly, hotels and restaurants will also come into operation from September 17.

Similarly, government has set up educational institutions, conducting examinations, seminars, training. It has decided to keep the activities like sports closed till further notice.

Pradip Gyawali informed that it has been decided to open the mountain from November for tourists coming for mountaineering and trekking.

Similarly, considering the risk of corona virus, it has been decided to close international border till September 15. Similarly, permission has been granted to enter Nepal through 12 border crossings with India, said spokesperson Gyawali.

Council of Ministers has decided to make special arrangements for the punishment and hearing of the perpetrators of the acid attack and to bear the cost of lifelong treatment of the victims themselves.

Spokesperson Gyawali informed that government has decided to bear the cost of free treatment of the victim and lifelong medicine related to the health damage.

The meeting decided that victims of the acid attack should be treated at the hospital as soon as possible and referred with the priority of further treatment.

Meeting also decided to amend the existing law on acid attack and enact a new law on production, import, sale and distribution.

Spokesperson Gyawali informed that Law Commission has been given 15 days to prepare the draft.

Similarly, meeting has also decided to celebrate the Awareness Day against Acid Attack on September 10 every year.

Government has also decided to provide free education to the victims. Cabinet also decided to appoint former finance minister Yubaraj Khatiwada as special economic adviser to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
