10 days for the chairperson to bring a proposal of unity

The ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has tasked party presidents and general secretary to come up with a concrete proposal to complete the remaining work of party unity.

A meeting of the secretariat held at PM's residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday gave two chairpersons and secretary general 10 days to bring a concrete proposal to the secretariat to complete the remaining work of unity, said spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

Spokesperson Shrestha said that the decision was taken by the secretariat after a concrete proposal was presented at the meeting.

Similarly, meeting has urged the government to fill the vacancies in the constitutional bodies for a long time.

Spokesperson Shrestha requested Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to hold a meeting of the Constitutional Council to fill the vacancies but said that there was no discussion in the meeting on who would be appointed to which post.

Meeting has already given the responsibility of reorganizing the cabinet to Prime Minister Oli in consultation with the leaders.

Spokesperson Shrestha said that other issues under various agendas would be decided at the next meeting within two to three days.

Shrestha said that meeting of the secretariat had a cordial and positive discussion regarding the implementation of the decision and conclusion of the meeting of the standing committee.
