Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has said the country will produce a vaccine against the carona virus and make it available to all citizens free of charge.
According to the AFP news agency, the prime minister said that Australia had entered into an agreement with the Swedish-British company AstraZeneca for the vaccine being developed by Oxford.
"The vaccine developed by Oxford is one of the most advanced and reliable in the world. We have had an agreement with them," he said, adding that the vaccine will be guaranteed for all citizens.
He said Australia would produce in large quantities if the vaccine was successful. He said that all 2.5 million Australians will receive a free vaccine.
The vaccine being made in Oxford is one of the five vaccines in the world. Oxford is in the third phase of the trial.
