Swabs have been collected for the PCR test of Corona of all members of the national football team playing in the second round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Qatar.
In the second phase, the swabs of the officials including the players staying in home quarantine were collected on Tuesday. According to ANFA, a total of 54 swabs were collected in the first and second phases.
In the first phase, swabs were collected for the corona test of 25 players, coaches and officials on Monday.
Swabs of Tej Tamang, Vikesh Kuthu, Ajit Bhandari, Eric Visht, Sesehang Aangdembe, Vikram Lama, Amit Tamang, Suman Aryal, Bharat Khawas, Saroj Dahal, Abhishek Rijal, Subash Tamang, Anant Tamang, Sunil Bal, Anjan Visht, Navyug Swabs of Shrestha, Vishal Shrestha, Rohit Chand, Kiran Chemjong, Vikas Khawas, George Prince Karki and Sujal Shrestha have been collected.
Team Manager Madhusudan Upadhyay, Krishna Bhakta Manandhar, Goalkeeper Coach Vikas Malla, Media Vivek Subedi, Yujal Shrestha and Dr Raju Dangol’s swabs have also been collected.
On Monday, Ranjit Dhimal, Mikchen Tamang, Vishal Rai, Ravi Paswan, Darshan Gurung, Vimal Rana, Deep Karki, Dilen Loktan, Chiring Gurung, Devendra Tamang and Pujan Uparkoti were tested. Similarly, swabs of trainers Kiran Shrestha and physio Avishkar Pudasaini were collected.
Nepal has three home matches to play in the World Cup qualifiers. Nepal is playing against Chinese Taipei on Ashoj 22. Five days later, on 27 Ashoj, they are scheduled to play Australia.
Nepal's World Cup qualifier will end after the match against Jordan on October 10.
In the previous five matches of the World Cup qualifiers, Nepal had lost 4 and won 1. Nepal had defeated Chinese Taipei 2-0 in the onlyvictorious match. Both goals were scored by Anjan Bista. Nepal ranks fourth in the five-nation group.
