Rescue Flights to Resume

Rescue flights that were stopped to repatriate Nepalis stranded abroad are set to resume.

On Thursday , the government decided to immediately launch flights to rescue stranded citizens abroad. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday decided to open the rescue flight with conditions, correcting the decision of the Covid-19 Crisis Management Center CCMC to postpone the rescue flights on Tuesday.

Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai said that it has been decided that Nepalis returning home should bring a PCR report and stay in Hotel Quarantine after landing in Kathmandu.

He said that the government will also bring those who cannot afford to stay in the hotel, but they have to stay in the quarantine prescribed by the government. Their expenses will be paid through the Labor Welfare Fund.

Minister Bhattarai said that those coming from countries that do not have PCR testing should ensure that they do not have corona. The government has also made public the list of hotels in Kathmandu to accommodate those who have come from abroad.

The District Administration Office, Kathmandu has made public the details from five-star hotels to tourist hotels through information. According to the details, those staying in five-star hotels will have to pay up to Rs 9,000 a day.

Those living in a four-star hotel will have to pay Rs 6,000 per day, those living in a three-star hotel will have to pay Rs 5500 per day, those living in a two-star hotel will have to pay Rs 3500 per day, those living in a one-star hotel will have to pay Rs 2500 per day.
