One Branch in Each District within Kathmandu Valley to be Allowed to Open

Only one branch of a bank will be opened in three districts of Kathmandu Valley during the ban period. The Bankers' Association has decided to open only one branch of each bank in a district from Friday to comply with the ban imposed by the District Administration Office.

"Only one branch of each bank will be opened daily in the three districts of the valley," said Anil Sharma, executive director of the Bankers' Association.

Only limited banking (basic) services will be available from those branches. From Friday, the employees of the bank will be able to move around on the basis of the identity card of the office.

It has been decided not to call more than 30 employees in one bank in three districts of the Kathmandu Valley every day, said Bankers' Association President Bhuvan Dahal. He said that only three branches of a bank would be operating in the Kathmandu Valley as the movement of the public would be reduced during the ban.

"The risk of covid is high. We have tried to reduce the customer crowd to avoid the risk," he said.

NRB has also directed to provide basic services by operating as few branches as possible with minimum staff. He said that it was decided to open only one branch of a bank on the basis of the same directive.
