A woman has died in Bhaktapur due to Covid-19 infection. A 62-year-old local woman who was brought to the Nagarik Community Hospital at Gatthaghar in Madhyapurthimi Municipality-3 has died last night.
Stating that corona infection has been confirmed in the woman suffering from high blood pressure, and the team of Veer Dal Gana Suryabinayak will manage the body today.Today, the family of the deceased will be traced and swab will be collected and PCR test will be done.
Director of the hospital Jitendra Shrestha said that the woman, who had come to the Nagarik Hospital for treatment due to asthma and high blood pressure, died on the way to the hospital.
Shrestha, the director of the hospital, said, “The patient had died at the hospital when doctors started treatment. Family members informed the doctors that she had been suffering from fever, vomiting, high blood pressure medication for five days and was brought to the hospital after fainting at home.
Shrestha, the director of the hospital informed that the emergency and OPD of the hospital will be closed for two days today and Saturday after the death of the woman due to corona infection.
The doctors and nurses of the hospital who came in contact with the patients will be kept in quarantine and the hospital will be operational from Sunday only after eradicating the virus, said Director Shrestha.
Earlier, two locals of Bhaktapur had died due to corona virus infection in Bhaktapur. A 72-year-old man from Suryabinayak died at the Medicare Hospital in Kathmandu on Saturday while a 68-year-old woman from Suryabinayak Municipality-1 Sirutar died at the Patan Hospital.
A 54-year-old man from Butwal Sub-Metropolis-11 died at the Shaheed Dharmabhakta National Transplant Center on Sunday. So far, three locals in Bhaktapur have died due to corona infection.
So far, 375 people have been infected with the corona virus in Bhaktapur and the virus has been found at the community level in Madhyapur-thimi Municipality.
So far, 156 people have been infected in Madhyapur-thimi municipality, 62 in Bhaktapur municipality, 94 in Suryabinayak municipality, 19 in Changunarayan municipality and 39 in the armed police battalion of Duwakot.
