Corona epidemic has affected various areas, while it has also affected the religious and cultural spheres. Due to Corona, various processions have been postponed and festivals have been forced to be celebrated at home.
A similar effect has been felt at the famous Chandeshwari temple in Banepa, Kavrepalanchok. Many Newar communities worship Chandeshwari as Kuldevi or Ishtadevi, while Sanatan Hindus worship Chandeshwari Devi, while Mahayana Buddhists worship her as a monotheistic goddess.
Due to Corona, worship other than daily worship has been completely stopped in the temple. Priest Bishnu Narayan Karmacharya said that the temple was completely closed saying that the number of corona was increasing even though the worship started inside the temple after the long woodcut. Priest Karmacharya informed that various processions in the meantime have been stopped.
This medieval temple is built in the original Nepali pagoda style. There are 3 floors in this recession. Its restoration was done by N.S. It was done by Jagajjyotir malla around 801 BS.
In Himatyokhand Puran, it is described that Chandeshwari Bhagwati killed a demon named Chanda. There are various paintings on the walls of Chandeshwari temple. These medieval murals are considered very important.
