Government without direction and plan: Nepali Congress

The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has accused the government of being directionless and unplanned as the Corona infection spreads.

Joint General Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, who is also the coordinator of the Nepali Congress' COVID-19 Monitoring Committee, said that the lives of the people were in crisis due to the government.

Minister Mahat said the government had ignored repeated warnings about measures to be taken to prevent corona infection and to address the situation.

Dr. Mahat demanded that a concrete short-term and long-term plan be made public to control the corona infection and make civilian life easier. The committee also demanded the required number of private hospitals be declared as corona hospitals as it is not practical to keep corona infected patients in every hospital keeping in view the current situation of corona infection.

Immediate provision of necessary oxygen and ventilators in the hospitals and immediate implementation of insurance for health workers as well as provision of corona risk allowance.

The committee demanded corona transition management training of health workers at the state level should be expanded and the government should make arrangements for the immediate repatriation of stranded workers abroad on regular flights.
