Bagmati River Rises to Alert Level

 

Due to the rains in Kathmandu Valley since last night, the water level of Bagmati has risen to the alert point.

According to the Flood Forecast Division of the Department of Water and Meteorology, the water level in Gaurighat of Kathmandu has risen by 1 meter due to moderate rainfall in the catchment area of ​​Bagmati and its tributaries. Similarly, water flow is increasing in Vishnumati, Hunumante and Manohara.

Stating that water from these rivers and canals may also come on the road, the branch has requested to remain vigilant till 8 am. Those walking along the river are also urged to be vigilant.

Moderate and heavy rains have lashed Dolakha, Ramechhap, Sindhupalchowk, Dhading, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Kavrepalanchok, Makwanpur, Gorkha, Lamjung, Tanahu, Kaski, Parbat, Myagdi, Baglung and some places in Rukum last night.

Stating that there may be an emergency flow in the small river around those places, the branch has requested to remain vigilant till at least 7 am.
