Unable to operate vehicle at present

Transport businessmen and workers have made it clear that vehicles cannot be operated in the current situation.

Talking to Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basant Kumar Nemwang at Singha Durbar on Sunday, the Federation of Nepali Transport Entrepreneurs and three trade unions said that there was no conducive environment for transport operation.

Trade Unions said that the government should address the problems of transport entrepreneurs and the government should consider the issue of loans as the banks are unable to repay the loans.

President of the Federation of Nepali Transport Entrepreneurs Yogendra Karmacharya complained that the government had announced the opening of transport without any discussion with them. Karmacharya said the government should help solve the problem caused by the post-Corona lockdown.

During the discussion, Minister for Transport Nemwang said that the government had opened the transport due to the demand of the businessmen to open the transport. Minister Nemwang said that the government was ready to solve the problems of businessmen and workers.

Entrepreneurs and trade unions have been saying that public vehicles cannot be operated unless their basic demands are met. The government had decided to allow the public vehicles to operate with 50 percent more fare from Friday.
