Rasuagadhi Border Opens after 6 months

Rasuagadhi border that was closed for the last six months since Magh 15 has come into operation from Monday morning. According to the Head of the Rasuwagadhi Custom’s Office- Timure, Punya Bikram Khadka, the border point has opened from 8 am on Monday.

The border checkpoint has been opened for the Chinese who have brought four containers of goods to the Miteri bridge. He added that precautions were being taken to bring those goods towards Nepal. On the first day of opening, the four Chinese containers with a load of 120 tonnes entered Nepal.

According to the agreement of the Asar 10 meeting at Miteri bridge, China has agreed to bring the goods till Miteri bridge in their own containers with their own drivers and laborers. They had also put forth a demand that the Nepali drivers and laborers who go to unload the goods be tested for Covid-19.
