Health and Population, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal said that the government has prioritized population management.
Giving a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 25th World Population Day, health minister said that progress has been made in the areas of population growth, reproductive health, improvement of reproductive rights, reduction of child marriage and safe motherhood.
Minister Dhakal said that population is not only the basic of development but also a key measure of establishing the existence of the country.
Dhakal said that although good work has been done in the field of population, some improvement is needed.
Health Minister, Dhakal said that if the state could pay special attention to issues like health, education, gender equality and employment of women, who constitute more than half of the country's population, it could make a great contribution to the development of the country.
The slogan of the day, which is being celebrated all over the world, is "Let's put an end to the Covid-19 infection, protect the health and rights of women and adolescents.
"Remembering that the world's population reached five billion in 1987, in 1989, 179 member nations, including Nepal, started celebrating this day. Nepal's population has reached 30 million.
