The two leaders of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda also had a discussion on Tuesday.
During the three-hour long discussion, it was agreed to form a standing committee on Wednesday. The meeting between the two chairpersons was positive and it was agreed to hold a standing committee meeting on Wednesday, said Bishnu Prasad Sapkota, press coordinator of Prachanda. Before that, Oli and Prachanda will discuss again.
After Prime Minister Oli ended the parliamentary session on July 3, the standing committee meeting has been uncertain. Repeatedly postponed meetings have been called on Wednesday.
Disputes within the CPN (Maoist) have escalated after Prime Minister Oli said that the Indian embassy was active in removing him and that Nepali leaders had demanded his resignation.
Leaders had pressured Oli to resign from both the post of prime minister and chairman of the standing committee on July 30.
