Corner meeting at Lagankhel by Corona Victims Struggle Committee

Corona victim tenant society, taxi drivers and 10 other associations and organizations have held a corner meeting in Lalitpur demanding reduction of business tax, house rent, fees of educational institutions, electricity, drinking water and internet tariff.

The Tenants' Concern Society Nepal, Nepal Hostel Association, Federation of Health Sciences Entrepreneurs, Federation of Medium Business Entrepreneurs and Retail Entrepreneurs Association formed a Corona Victims Struggle Committee and held a corner meeting at Lagankhel in Lalitpur on Friday. Earlier, they had staged a sit-in at the Electricity Authority's office at Lagankhel demanding exemption from electricity tariff.

Bishnu Jung Basnet, president of the Tenants 'Concern Society Nepal, said that the protest program has been continued demanding timely provision of fertilizers and seeds to the farmers, maintenance of scientific tenants and formation of tenants' commission and reduction of interest of banks and financial institutions.

Bishnu Jung Basnet said that they had to undergo a coercive program as they were in a lot of trouble due to long-term stagnation due to corona and the situation was still not normal.
