90.69 billion budget to the Ministry of Health and Population
The government is going to build a 300-bed infectious disease hospital in Kathmandu Valley.
Presenting the budget of the Fiscal Year 2077-78, Finance Minister Dr.Yuvaraj Khatiwada has made such an announcement. He also said that 200-bed hospitals would be set up in all the states.
Finance Minister Khatiwada also announced to provide incentive allowance to motivate the health workers in the health service. He said that health workers will be provided free health insurance of Rs 500,000.
Announcing the construction of infectious disease hospitals in every state capital, he said the government has allocated budget for the construction of 15-bed hospitals at each local level.
Minister Khatiwada said that the aim was to bring normal life to the people by fighting infectious diseases including corona virus and other diseases.
He clarified that the objective of the government is to expand the scope of the health sector, expand the manpower and increase the steps taken for the prevention and control of infections to keep them safe from health risks.
The government has allocated Rs. 90.69 billion to the Ministry of Health and Population.
