Secretary General of Parliament sworn in and takes office
The newly appointed Secretary General of the Federal Parliament, Dr. Bharatraj Gautam has taken the oath of office and secrecy.
Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota administered the oath of office to Gautam at the Federal Parliament Secretariat Singhadwar on Tuesday.
The program was also attended by the Speaker, Vice-Chairperson, Parliamentary Party Leaders and Committee Chairpersons.
On Monday, President Vidyadevi Bhandari appointed Gautam as secretary general of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
After taking oath, Gautam said that he would play his role in moving the Parliament Secretariat forward in a systematic manner. Gautam assumed office on Tuesday.
Earlier, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota and National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina jointly called on Dr. Gautam was recommended to the President to be appointed as the Secretary General of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
Gautam has previously served as secretary and spokesperson for the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
