After the infection was confirmed in Bhaktapur, Bhaktapur Thimi was sealed
As soon as the infection was confirmed in Bhaktapur, police sealed off the area around Duwakot and Shankdhar Chowk. Police have sealed off a settlement in Shankdharchowk where the corona infected woman lived.
The Thimi municipality has issued a notice stating that the city will be sealed from Thursday and people will be able to walk only to buy essential items. People have been barred from walking from Sundar Chowk in Bhaktapur to Shankhadhar Chowk.
Tracing of infected residents has also been started, said Madan Sunder Shrestha, Mayor of Madhyapur, Thimi Municipality. Similarly, the house of Duwakot, where the infected armed police have been staying, has also been sealed.
He informed that the Armed Police Force is providing security by sealing only one house as it is far from the settlement. His family has also been sent to Teku Hospital for swab collection and testing. The nurse working in Bhaktapur came from Sunsari and stayed here in a friend's room.
Police said that they have traced the travel history of both of them and started contact tracing.
