Government of Nepal fails to control corona
The Chairman of the main opposition party Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the government has proved to be a complete failure in controlling the Covid-19 pandemic.
Deuba expressed this during the inaugural session of the Parliament on Friday adding that the government’s handling of this crisis was not proper.
He also said that the government had failed to provide proper equipment and management to the medical and security personnel at the forefront of this pandemic.
Highlighting the lack of adequate testing he also questioned the reliability of the tests conducted.
He said that it was a matter of shame that issues of corruption was prevalent in the procurement of medical supplies even in the situation of crisis.
He also expressed dissatisfaction over the government’s lack of initiatives and plans to guarantee the safety of Nepali people abroad and attempts to get them back to the country.
He also said that it was unfortunate that the government is accursed of involvement in the kidnapping of a lawmaker and called for legal action against those involved.
He also urged the government to provide relief packages to media houses, journalists and small businesses.
