Lawmakers say caution should be exercised to minimize the impact of the corona virus on the economy.
In a meeting of the House of Representatives Finance Committee on Monday, he said that the situation of foreign investment was low, financial institutions of the world could not provide assistance and Nepal's industries were closed.
In the meeting, CPN (Maoist) MP and former finance minister Surendra Pandey suggested that a clear plan should be brought in the budget for those returning from foreign employment.
He said that new recruits should not be recruited in the civil service, in the security personnel and various ministries and offices should be run from the same building plus unnecessary physical infrastructure should not be spent.
He also suggested that attention should be paid to the completion of immediate income generating projects in the forthcoming budget.
During the meeting, Finance Minister Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada informed that Rs 1.8 billion has been disbursed through the Ministry of Health for the control of corona. Similarly, Rs 2.34 billion has been released for corona control through the Ministry of Defense.
