Today (Sunday) there will be partly to moderate cloud cover in hilly areas of the country and there will be light rain with thunder and wind in the evening.
Meteorologist Ganga Nagarkoti said that there is a possibility of light rain with thunder, lightning and hurricane in hilly areas of country in evening due to the influence of western winds along with local winds.
During pre-monsoon period, there is sunshine throughout the day and in afternoon and evening in hilly areas, there are showers with wind, thunder and lightning. According to meteorologists, pre-monsoon season, which starts from March and lasts till May, continues to affect hilly region in afternoon and evening.
At that time, influence of westerly winds, when combined with local winds, causes strong lightning.
Currently, weather is generally clear in the rest of hilly areas with partial to moderate cloud cover. There is a possibility of light rain with thunder, lightning and wind in one or two places in hilly areas of Bagmati Province and Province No. 1 in afternoon.
According to the latest details of Weather Forecast Division, minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley is 9.4 degrees Celsius and maximum temperature is 22.4 degrees Celsius. Similarly, the lowest temperature in Jumla today is 1.5 degrees Celsius.
