Government has decided to waive the imprisonment time of prisoners on the occasion of Democracy Day.
At a press conference organized by Ministry of Communications and Information Technology today to publicize the decisions of cabinet meeting held on January 3, 4 and 5, Minister for Communications and Information Minister Parbat Gurung said that government has exempted such inmates.
Minister Gurung informed that the decision to give exemption was made on the basis of the criteria given.
Minister Gurung informed that cabinet has recommended decision to release the prisoner to President Bidhyadevi Bhandari for verification.
Minister Gurung said that he did not know how many prisoners were released as they had not been certified.
