Metropolitan City Chief Chiribabu Maharjan handed over 200 rubber cones, 100 poles and 30 wheel locks to Chief of the Division, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Janak Bhattarai On Monday.
Maharjan said that the materials would be kept in Dhobighat, Ekantakuna, Jawalakhel, Kusunti and other areas from Monday to reduce the increasing number of accidents.
He also informed that the metropolis will handle the scattered wires to enhance the beauty of the city and manage the living space for traffic police to control the traffic jam 24 hours a day.
Maharjan said that necessary items including street lights will be provided to eliminate accidents on 7.9 km of roads in the ring road area of the metropolis.
Superintendent Bhattarai urged the Municipal Police of the metropolis to act promptly in crowded places. The corporation has stated that around Rs. 500,000 has been spent on the purchase of goods.
