CPN (Maoist) Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam said that it has been misrepresented that he was brought to the National Assembly to become the Prime Minister.
At a meeting of the Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee under the National Assembly held at Singha Durbar on Friday, National Assembly member Gautam said that it has been mispresented that he was elected to the National Assembly for becoming the Prime Minister.
Stating that there is a difference between the National Assembly and the House of Representatives in terms of dignity and functioning, Gautam said that he would take initiative and contribute to end the differences.
He also said that the National Assembly has been given less power than house of the federal parliament.
A meeting of the National Assembly held on May 7 nominated Gautam as the member of the Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee. This is Gautam's first visit to the committee after being nominated.
