Nepali Congress Udayapur has organized a procession in Katari against the arrest of senior Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel.
Procession led by Ram Kumar Khatri, regional president of Udaipur Constituency No. 2, reached the goal park on Thursday evening. At a corner meeting held after the rally, they warned that arresting their leader would cost government dearly.
Protestors strongly protested the government's decision to arrest their leader, saying it was politically motivated.
Khatri, regional president of Udaipur Constituency No. 2, had said that agitation would continue until the administration publicly apologized for Poudel's arrest.
Poudel was taken under control by the local administration in Tanahu during a dispute over the inauguration of the bridge. Poudel was released on Wednesday and inaugurated bridge on Thursday.
