The Office of the Advertising Board has been established by the government with the objective of formulating and regulating the overall advertising policy in the media sector of Nepal.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung inaugurated the office at Babar Mahal in Kathmandu. The board has stated that the work will be smooth as soon as the office is established.
On the occasion, Minister Gurung expressed confidence that the board would work to manage the arrangements related to advertisement.
He said that the role of the board would be important to link Nepal's economy by formulating and regulating advertising policy.
Earlier, the ministry had appointed Mahendra Bahadur Sherchan, chairman of Rajdhani Dainik Prakashan, and journalists Shubha Shankar Kandel, Balram Thapa, Chandra Neupane and Vandana Danuwar as board members. The term of the current board member is four years.
