Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi on Thursday morning visits to Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”.
According to sources, Yanqi reached Khumaltar and had talk with Prachanda for half an hour. The meeting focused on the latest political developments of Nepal. Yanqi held meeting with Prachanda for latest political developments and the “split” of the political parties.
In past too Chinese Ambassador Yanqi had held political meetings with party leaders when the intra-party conflict peaked.
The Chinese Ambassador met Prachanda at the time when the ruling NCP is heading for a vertical split after President Bidhya Devi Bhandari dissolved the Parliament on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Oli-led government.
Ambassador Yanqi swaying in; when any dispute in the ruling party reaches a climax has been a routine in a political scenario of Nepal.
Political analyst and viewers have noted that China, has been showing strong concern over the conflict within the ruling NCP, and the latest political changes of Nepal. It can be seen that Yanqi has been accustomed holding meetings with the NCP leaders to prevent the party from splitting.
She met and discussed with the NCP top leaders, NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal in May this year when the party was on the verge of a split.
China government’s move about the micromanagement of Nepali politics has drawn international attention towards Nepal.
