Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has said that preparations are being made to convene winter session of parliament.
Giving a brief response to media persons at Singha Durbar on Monday, Speaker Sapkota said that discussions are underway with government and political parties to convene a winter session of parliament.
According to constitutional provision that difference between one convention and another should not be more than six months, convention should be started by January 30. But before that, maximum efforts are being made to convene parliament, said Speaker Sapkota.
Speaker Sapkota mentioned that ordinances brought by government when parliament was not in session will be discussed in the house.
Speaker Sapkota said that various health security measures were being discussed to prevent spread of corona as regular meetings were to be held and convention would be held for a long time.
Annual budget session of federal parliament ended on July 3. There is an arrangement for President to convene a parliamentary session on the recommendation of government.
