Proposed Nepali ambassador to the United States, United Kingdom and South Africa is scheduled to have a parliamentary hearing on November 12.
Chairman Laxman Lal Karna informed that it has been decided to hold parliamentary hearing of proposed ambassador for the three countries on Thursday, November 12, as the complainants against proposed ambassador were not present at the meeting of parliamentary hearing committee under federal parliament.
Committee had issued a 10-day written notice to the complainant after the name, number and nationality of complainant were not disclosed.
Government had recommended former finance minister Dr Yuvraj Khatiwada to the United States, former chief secretary Lokdarshan Regmi to the United Kingdom and Nirmal Kumar Bishwakarma as ambassador to South Africa.
There are three complaints against proposed ambassador Dr Khatiwada and one against Regmi.
The meeting of committee on September 7 had published a notice calling on public to lodge a complaint before committee within 10 days if there is any complaint, complaint or grievance regarding proposed ambassador.
If the name proposed by committee is approved, there is a constitutional provision for president to appoint an ambassador on the recommendation of government.
