Former Speaker Mahara's wife Sita Mahara passes away

Former Speaker and Member of House of Representatives Krishna Bahadur Mahara's wife Sita Mahara has passed away on Wednesday morning. She had been undergoing treatment at Norvik Hospital in Thapathali since Friday.

According to Tribhuvan Poudel, former press advisor to Mahara, Mahara died at the hospital at 6:30 am while undergoing treatment.

According to Poudel, Sita Mahara had gone to Rolpa for Dashain and was admitted to Gorkha Hospital in Dang on October 29 after she was diagnosed with a general health problem.

Mahara’s wife was airlifted to Norvik Hospital in Kathmandu on October 29 after being diagnosed with pneumonia and respiratory problems.

Poudel informed that corona was also positive during PCR test at the hospital. Poudel informed that the hospital confirmed that she died on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment on a ventilator since Saturday.

Mahara had been suffering from myasthenia gravis for the past 10 years.

She was born in 2035 BS to father Mukta Bahadur Thapa and mother Khirmadevi Thapa in Rolpa's Gajul Dhaulegaon. She was married to Krishna Bahadur Mahara in 2035 BS. She has two sons and two daughters. Poudel said that her body is still in the hospital.
