106th birth anniversary of Ganeshman Singh, the supreme commander of people's movement for restoration of democracy in 2046 BS, has been celebrated by organizing various programs.
Living as a high example of sacrifice and courage in Nepali politics, Singh had succeeded in becoming the center of loyalty of all. After the success of Jana Andolan in 2046 BS, at the request of the then King Birendra to become Prime Minister, Ganeshman Singh put forward his counterpart Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and presented a high example of sacrifice in Nepali politics.
Ganeshman Singh is remembered as one of the leader of 2007 revolution for establishment of democracy.
On the occasion of his birth anniversary, a wreath was laid at the statue of Singh at Shobhabhagwati in Kathmandu on Monday. On the occasion, Congress leader Prakash Man Singh recalled the role of Ganesh Man Singh for transformation of Nepal and end of Rana rule.
On another occasion, Singh accused current government of failing to move forward in line with its mandate to institutionalize federalism, democracy and republic. Similarly, Singh said that despite the slogan of stability, CPN-led government has not been able to give anything to people except instability and corruption.
Leader Singh said that they were protesting against the formation of department by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba in a one-sided manner.
Singh, who was born in Kshetrapati, Kathmandu on November 9, 1972, passed away on September 20, 2006.
