Minister for Finance, Information and Communication Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada has said that he will continue to work for the interest of the country and national development even if he is out of the government.
Talking to media persons at the Ministry of Communications on Friday, Minister Khatiwada said that he would always work for the interest of the country and the people. Minister Khatiwada expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister KP Oli at the cabinet meeting.
Khatiwada urged people to understand that if they are hurt while working in the national interest, it is not for fulfilling personal aspirations but for the nation.
Minister Khatiwada made it clear that he would not pursue personal interests whether he was in office or not. Minister Khatiwada said that he was leaving the government after gaining a lot of experience.
Minister Khatiwada informed that he would submit his letter to the Prime Minister today.
Minister Khatiwada also said that he got an opportunity to understand the media sector directly while working as the Minister of Communications. Khatiwada was first appointed as the Finance Minister on March 20, 2008.
After resigning on the same day as his term of office ended on March 6, 2008, he was re-appointed as the Finance Minister for a second term. According to the constitution, a person who is not a federal MP can become a minister for only six months.
After that, if a member of the federal parliament cannot be appointed, he / she will automatically resign. After a long tug of war, the party will send Vice President Gautam to the National Assembly. The journey to Khatiwada has been stopped.
