Family of late journalist Balram Baniya has been handed over the financial assistance collected from New York, USA on the sole initiative of Radhakrishna Deuja to his daughter Susmita Baniya.
A total of 357,167 Nepali rupees collected through a week-long fund has been handed over today.
Deuja said that campaign was started in honor and remembrance of the professional integrity of the journalist Baiya who have not done any work other than journalism for the rest of his lives.
Radhakrishna Deuja also said that he was ready to send additional assistance to the children if their educational condition was hampered due to financial reasons.
I do not know him and his family personally. But, as an honest journalist, I was a regular reader of his news. I have collected this support saying that he should provide some help to his family after his demise, ' said Radhakrishna Deuja.
Despite being a permanent resident of Kavre, Deuja, who has been living in the US for a long time, has been active in various social work.
Journalist Baniya's daughter Susmita demanded that government conduct an honest investigation into her father's untimely death. 'The sequence of events from the previous day has made it clear that Baba was killed.
But, it would have been better if the state bodies and the journalists themselves had taken it seriously ', said her daughter Susmita.
