Butwal-Palpa section of the Siddhartha Highway blocked since Friday night has still not come to operation. The road was blocked after multiple landslides fell in the Tinau Gaonpalika area on Friday. Landslides have fallen in Chidiyakhola, Kadambas, Bhutkhola, Siddhababa, Jhumsa and other areas.
Obstructions were cleared in the Jhumsa- Butwal section by Saturday evening. However, there have been problems removing the debris in other areas. Since big stones have fallen, attempts have been carried on to remove the obstruction by using dozers from both sides. The road is expected to come to operation by 3 pm today.
Vehicles going to Palpa side have been stopped at Butwal, whereas those coming towards Butwal have been stopped at Kerabari, Jordhara and Charchare.
Local police informed that passengers are facing trouble after being stranded for three days.
