Odd- Even system in the valley again, shops can be opened as per the specified day

Government has decided to relax the ban in the Kathmandu Valley. Chief District Officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur have issued new orders after discussions with Home Ministry officials.

The last extension of the complete ban imposed in the Kathmandu Valley from midnight on August 19 is coming to an end at midnight on Wednesday.

Similarly, it has been decided to allow shops and businesses to operate throughout the day. It has been decided to open department stores and shopping malls from 11 am and 4 pm.

Public passenger vehicles with a capacity of more than 16 seats will be allowed to operate. In the case of hired taxis, it will be possible to operate up to 3 persons including the driver and up to 2 persons under the age of 5 in the family. Private vehicles can be operated by following health standards.

Clothing and footwear stores will also open. Among the essential services, time has been fixed for sale and distribution of food items, milk, dairy products, fruits, vegetables and fish.

Such shops were earlier allowed to open only till 11 am but now they will be allowed to open till 11 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Hotels, restaurants and bars will not be allowed to open and gatherings, processions and festivals will not be allowed in open space. Take away service as well as online delivery service will be provided.

For that, it has been opened from 12 noon to 7 pm following the health standards. Banks, which used to be limited, will now be able to open cooperatives.

However, cooperatives will be allowed to open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Workshops, rental shops, online classes, fancy shops will be opened.

There will be no activities other than daily worship in temples and mosques. Seminars, salons, spas, beauty parlors will not be open.

Zoos and exhibitions will not be open. Workers will not be able to move without maintaining social distance.
