Mobile Swab Collection Vehicle provided to the Armed Police Force

 

The Nepal Institute of Science and Technology (NAST) has provided a mobile swab collection vehicle to the Armed Police Force.

A set of swab-collecting technology was handed over to the Armed Police Force at a function held at NAST's office in Lalitpur on Friday. Dr. Mahesh Kumar Adhikari, Secretary of the Office of the Destroyer, Dr. Superintendent of Police of the Armed Police Hospital handed over to Shailendra Duwal Shrestha. T

he technology was developed by NAST to make it easier for doctors to protect patients from the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, which is spreading worldwide.

This technology has been shown to be very helpful in eliminating the risk of increased swabs between corona-affected individuals and physicians.

The vehicle is equipped with PPE globes, positive pressure chamber, virus filtering technology and ice box, said Shankar Dhakal, senior technical officer at NAST.

Senior technical officer, Dhakal said that the technology was made very safe considering the health risks and the person collecting the swab should not wear PPE.

The swab collected from the vehicle will be kept in the ice box inside it. The swab kept in the box is sent to the laboratory for testing. Arrangements have also been made to completely clean the vehicle with the technology after collecting the swab.
