Earthquake shakes Kathmandu

Epicenter was reported near Ramche in Sindhupalchowk district on Wednesday morning.

According to the National Earthquake Measurement Center, Department of Mines and Geology, magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck at 5:19 this morning.

This is not a new earthquake but the epicenter of the earthquake that struck Barpak in Gorkha in 2072 BS.

Epicenter was reported below the capital, Kathmandu. The quake affected the valley and surrounding districts.

In all three districts of the valley, large numbers of people rushed out of their homes in panic.

According to the Center, there have been more than 550 aftershocks above 4 Richter scale since the Gorkha earthquake of 2072 BS.
