Bodies of 21 missing persons found in floods

Death toll from floods and landslides in Bhujikhola of Dhorpatan has reached 21. Seventeen people are still missing in floods that came along with the landslide on September 3 night.

Search for the missing continues. Bodies of a woman and a man were found in Badigad Khola in Badigad Gaonpalika-6 on Wednesday. Both the bodies have not been identified yet.

The bodies of two women were also found in Badigad river on Tuesday. The bodies of Kumari BK, 25, and Chani BK, 25, were found on the bank of Badigad River in Ward Nos. 6 and 7 of Badigad Gaonpalika.

The bodies of 19 people have been identified and handed over to their families for burial. Most of the bodies were found in a damaged condition far below the flood-hit village. Relatives and police have intensified the search for the missing.

Flood in Bhujikhola had washed away 80 houses in Dhorpatan. Three wards of Dhorpatan have been plunged into darkness after floods washed away 11 power houses and a canal in Bhujikhola.

Floods  have also washed away the Burtibang-Dhorpatan road, disrupting traffic and making it difficult to distribute relief.

Flood also washed away the building of Lakuribot Health Post at Dhorpatan-9, four-room building of Janachetana Primary School, two-room building of Saraswati Primary School, four buildings out of five branches of Bhujikhola Micro Hydropower Project and jeeps parked on the side of the road.
