The Metropolitan Traffic Police has placed 22 dummy traffic along the roadsides of various places in the Valley to increase traffic awareness.
Dummy traffic has been set up to reduce road accidents by effectively implementing the road education program. A fine of Rs 500 to Rs 10,000 will be imposed on the dummy for violating traffic rules.
Chief of the Division, Senior Superintendent of Police Bhim Prasad Dhakal said that the drivers would control the speed of their vehicles and follow the traffic rules as it looks like a traffic police from a distance.
The traffic dummies have been kept in collaboration with the Kathmandu Metropolitan City on the initiative of the branch. The dummies have been placed at Singha Durbar, Singhadobato, Maitighar, New Baneshwor Chowk and Baluwatar.
Similarly, 60 flex boards with measures to prevent corona infection have been placed on various road sections of Kathmandu Valley.
