There has been a loss of several lakhs due to fire in Baswariya village municipality and Bagmati municipality of Sarlahi district. According to police, the house and barn of Bindeshwar Rai, a resident of Mandirwa Toll in Ward No. 3, caught fire last night due to a sudden power outage.
The fire was brought under control overnight with the help of police and locals.
According to Madan Kuwar, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Sarlahi, although the fire did not cause any loss of life, property including grains, clothes and a buffalo and 7 goats were killed.
Similarly, a fire broke out in a cattle shed in Bagmati Municipality of Sarlahi on Monday, causing a loss of one lakh rupees, according to Sarlahi Police. A fire broke out in the cattle shed of Bidur Prasad Devkota of Newarchowk in Ward No. 6.
Devkota's 5-year-old son Sunil Devkota along with his friends had started a fire to roast corn while playing.
