CCMC recommends not allowing schools, long distance vehicles to operate until Bhadra 15 - No vehicular movement after 9pm

The government has warned the elderly and children not to go out of the house except for urgent work, saying that the Coronavirus (Covid-19) infection has spread rapidly.

The government has also requested the general public to change their lifestyle to fight corona. A meeting of the Covid-19 Crisis Management Committee (CCMC) set up for the prevention and control of corona on Sunday warned the elderly and children not to go out of the house except for necessary work and also requested to change their lifestyle.

CCMC has urged people to change their lifestyle to fight corona, not to let children and the elderly go out, and anyone who goes out for urgent work to take health precautions, wear masks and avoid crowds and stay away.

The CCMC meeting concluded that the number of corona infections has increased in recent times and that additional precautions should be taken to prevent them. CCMC has also recommended to the government not to open long distance vehicles (inter-district transport) and external and domestic flights till Bhadra 15.

The cabinet meeting held on Shrawan 5 had given permission to operate long-distance transport, external and internal flights and school enrollment from Bhadra 1, ending the four-month-long deadlock.

A member of the CCMC said that since there was a growing number of infections there was a discussion of not easing the restrictions  immediately.

The government has already given permission to operate short-distance vehicles. However, it was decided to open long-distance vehicles, air services and school admissions only later. The next cabinet meeting will decide on this.

The CCMC meeting has also proposed to call only 50 percent employees in banks and offices and keep 50 percent at home for 7 or 15 days and ask them to work turn by turn.

The government has tightened vehicular movement  after 9 pm. Stating that the corona infection is on the rise, the Home Ministry has decided to stop vehicular movement after 9 p.m.

As per the decision of the House, the traffic in Kathmandu Valley has been stopped after 9 pm. The traffic has been stopped after 9 o'clock by installing dividers in various places in the valley. Police said that the vehicles of the emergency sectors were not obstructed.
