It is estimated that one lakh 28 thousand 665 people will be affected in Chitwan due to the rains.
The meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee Chitwan has estimated that the number of people will be affected at seven local levels.
According to Chitwan Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, 88 places are expected to be cut and 71 places will be inundated due to the rains. Bhattarai said that 25 thousand 733 households will be affected by this.
In Madi municipality, 19,730 out of 3,946 households are estimated to be affected by erosion in 9 places and flooding in 11 places.
Similarly, in Kalika Municipality, five places have been cut off, six places have been submerged, five thousand 25 of one thousand five households, eight places in Ratnanagar have been cut off and 10 places have been submerged, 11 thousand 905 out of two thousand 381 households are estimated to be affected.
In Khairhani Municipality, 1,600 of 320 households were submerged in 2 places and 7 places were submerged, in Rapti Municipality 30 places were submerged and 9 places were submerged. The Disaster Management Committee estimates that 175 people will be affected.
According to the data collected by the local level, 6,280 out of 1,256 families will be affected when Ichchakamana is cut down in 18 places in the village municipality.
Bhattarai said that work is underway to inform the people of the potential areas in advance, search for public places, identify the place where helicopters can land for rescue, and keep Nepal Police, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force on standby for rescue.
