Numerous Landslides in Lalitpur

Dozens of landslides have occurred in Lalitpur and some places have been inundated due to continuous rains in the past few days. Dhapakhel, Nakhu, Tikathali, Kist Hospital and other places have been inundated.

Some homes are at high risk of landslides. Dozens of landslides have disrupted the southern Lalitpur-Kathmandu link. According to the Lalitpur Metropolitan Police, roads leading to Bagmati, Konjosyom and Mahankal villages of South Lalitpur have been blocked.

According to Superintendent of Police Tul Bahadur Karki, landslides have blocked the roads leading to Ghusel, Tikabhairav, Pangdur Dol, Bhalukhola, Rato Bhir, Lukuni Bhir, Naya Gaon, Sasita Bhanjyang, Manikhel, Kalche, Rumba Toll, Birkhedhara and Khairghari. He said, "Details are still being collected. Police have rescued those at risk of drowning and landslides. ’

According to Bagmati village chief Bir Bahadur Lama, no human casualties have been reported so far. However, the landslide has affected people's lives in South Lalitpur. Having returned  to Kathmandu on Tuesday, he said it was difficult to reach the village.

According to him, Kanti Lokpath is completely closed. This has hit those who were coming to Kathmandu.

Similarly, the entire road leading to Mahankal village municipality has been closed, police said. Going to Konjosyom village is also a problem. Chairman Lama said that these three villages known as Karnali of Lalitpur have always been hit by rains.

Eleven families living in a tent at Mukunda Acharya's house in Tikathali-5 of Mahalakshmi Municipality have been rescued after the Hanumante River overflowed on Monday.

Similarly, the family of five has been shifted to a safe place by the police after a house belonging to Suraj Lama was submerged in another ward 10 Lankuri Bhanjyang.

According to the Metropolitan Police Circle, Satdobato, 32 people and their belongings from seven high-risk houses in Dhapakhel have been shifted to safer places.

According to Sharma, the houses of Umesh Shrestha, Narayan Shrestha, Sudhir Acharya, Anita Shrestha, Mira Bhattarai, Shiva Vik and Raghusada Shankar are at high risk of landslides.

The houses are located near the Pashupati Mandir toll of Ward 24. Local Kedar Dahal said that 11 houses in 13 Jharuwawasi of Godavari Municipality are also at high risk of landslides.

Plastic laying has been done by the locals and the ward at the place where a 70-meter crack has formed on the land.
