Landslide Death Toll in Myagdi Reaches 27

The death toll in a landslide in Dhawalagiri, Malika and Raghuganga villages of Myagdi district on Friday has reached 27. Similarly, three of the missing have been contacted and four are still missing.

According to DSP Kiran Jung Kunwar, the bodies of 18 persons were found in Dhawalagiri-6 Marang, eight in Malika-7 Bim and one in Raghu Ganga-6 Thadakhani.

Dhan Bahadur Jugjali, 40, Ritukumari Jugjali, 33, and Arjun Jugjali, who went missing in the landslide of Rikh of Marang, have come in contact. Elisa KC of Malika-7 Bim, Janima KC of Dhawalagiri-6 Kalani, Sabin Pun and Geeta Roka of Malika-6 who went missing in Dukhukhola have not been found.

According to the police, 590 people from Dhawalagiri, 196 from Malika, 85 from Raghuganga and 25 from Beni have been shifted to safer places. Twelve people injured in the landslide have been rescued by helicopter.

Seven are undergoing treatment at Beni Hospital, one at Kathmandu and four at Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara.
