Instructions to the Commission to provide work progress

The Women and Social Affairs Committee under the House of Representatives has directed the National Inclusive Commission to make available the progress made for the target group.

Discussing the annual report of the commission at Singha Durbar on Friday, the committee said that the commission has so far failed to clearly identify the target group and directed to make progress on the work done for the target group so far.

While the officials are not satisfied with the progress of the commissions, the committee has directed to provide the opinion of the commission on the issue of modification in the working area, structural aspect and other issues.

Similarly, the Commission has directed to make available the discussions and suggestions on inclusion immediately as they are not included in the report, said Niru Devi Pal, chairperson of the committee.

Acting Chairperson of the Commission Bishnumaya Ojha complained that the commission was not empowered and was limited to formulating its action plan. Bishnumaya Ojha also said that the scope of work of the Inclusive Commission has not been clarified.

Ojha had informed that the commission was continuing its work even though it was not completed.

During the meeting, the committee members expressed dissatisfaction over the inability to clearly identify the target group so far and said that the budget of the commission was spent on luxuries.
